Hey, Did You Know..? On average, Smiley Transportation interviews 15 to 20 people for each driving position. An applicant is vetted in several areas. The applicant must first pass an initial interview, a local background check and ran through the sex offender data base. The applicant then starts the second interview process. This process can take from a week to a month depending on the applicant. During the second interview phase the applicant must provide a federal FBI finger print background, a certified copy of their driving record for the last three years plus a few other certifications that Smiley Transportation requires. Once Hired, The new employee does not just get the keys and begin transporting anyone. They are placed in a training course that can last several weeks...during this process the new employee goes over all policies, procedures and ran through scenarios. The training and education does not stop there. We have monthly training on driving. Each employee must go through two weeks of a certified driving course each year to remain a Smiley Transportation Employee this includes driving simulator hours, OHSA Certified. All of our employees are trained to be awesome drivers, not only for their safety but also because YOU the parent depend on our company.
