Hey, Did You Know..? On average, Smiley Transportation interviews 15 to 20 people for each driving position. An applicant is vetted in several areas. The applicant must first pass an initial interview, a local background check and ran through the sex offender data base. The applicant then starts the second interview process. This process can take from a week to a month depending on the applicant. During the second interview phase the applicant must provide a federal FBI finger print background, a certified copy of their driving record for the last three years plus a few other certifications that Smiley Transportation requires. Once Hired, The new employee does not just get the keys and begin transporting anyone. They are placed in a training course that can last several weeks...during this process the new employee goes over all policies, procedures and ran through scenarios. The training and education does not stop there. We have monthly training on driving. Each employee must go through two weeks of a certified driving course each year to remain a Smiley Transportation Employee this includes driving simulator hours, OHSA Certified. All of our employees are trained to be awesome drivers, not only for their safety but also because YOU the parent depend on our company.
Hey, Did You Know..? Smiley Transportation has developed a "LIVE" camera System in every vehicle. This AI Camera is a 360 degree system. It can record in all forms of light and darkness. It records audio inside and outside of the vehicle at all times. This system alerts our Fleet and Operation Managers of any exceptions. What are exceptions? Exceptions are those violations of speeding, hard braking, seat belt usage, phone usage, hard turns, rolling stops.
Hey, Did You Know that Smiley has a vehicle cleaning crew that sanitizes and cleans every vehicle daily? We believe in making sure every person that rides with Smiley has a safe and clean experience. Smiley has increased the cleaning processes to help prevent the spread of Covid19, Flu and common cold virus. Although we can not prevent all germs, we can cut decrease them with these added procedures. On top of this daily cleaning, each vehicle goes for a full detailing twice a year to help ma
All Smiley Transportation vehicles go through a thorough 20 points inspection before and after each route. That means each vehicle has a minimum of four daily inspections. These inspections ensures that all Smiley Vehicles are in functional and safe condition.
Our Fleet Manager is responsible for ensuring all regularly required maintenance is performed to keep the fleet in optimum performance quality. They do regular inspections of tires, vehicle cleanliness, safety equipment and driver supplies.
They review all driver logs daily to ensure that there are no issues with the vehicles and that they are in peak performance. They oversee the viewing of the onboard camera footage of each Smiley vehicle and manages any complaints that come in to the company about our fleet or drivers.
